Provides youth & their families with a quality child care option that is convenient & affordable.

Comprehensive Vocational/Educational Training:

Provides adults with disabilities with paid work, social opportunities, and enhancement of daily living skills, adaptive behaviors, and capacity for independent living.

Conscious Discipline Curricula*:

St. Mark Youth Enrichment

Provides before and after school and summer programs that address the growing social-emotional needs and broadens the access for vulnerable students to obtain skills for academic achievement, setting them up for a lifetime of success.

Cub & Boy Scout Advancement:

Northeast Iowa Council of Boy Scouts

Assists boys in acquiring the skills needed to build physical & emotional growth by learning physical skills, social skills and self-reliance.

Exploring Program:

Northeast Iowa Council of Boy Scouts

Provides teenage boys & girls with the opportunity to be exposed to possible workplace experiences & give them the necessary tools to make informed decisions when it comes to post-secondary education & future career choices.

Foster Grandparent Program:

United Ways of Iowa

Provides the opportunity for limited-income seniors to work as one-on-one mentors to children with special needs in elementary schools, early education centers, & summer learning programs.

Green Dot Violence Prevention*:

Foundation for Dubuque Public Schools

Provides the Green Dot Violence Prevention Program in order to create school communities in which violence will not be tolerated and everyone will be empowered to stop it.

Leadership & Character Building:

Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa & Western Illinois

Provides girls in grades K-12 with the opportunity to develop their leadership & character by teaching them important life skills & positive values.

Mentor Dubuque:

Hillcrest Family Services

Creates & supports one-on-one mentoring relationships between youth facing challenges & caring adults to positively impact lives.

Partners in Learning*:


AmeriCorps is a national service program that Americans of all ages and backgrounds to meet a critical need in the community. Dubuque AmeriCorps members engage in intensive service around education, specifically Dubuque's Campaign for Grade Level Reading.

Pre-School & Early Childhood Childcare:

Northeast Iowa Council of Boys Scouts

Offers real solutions to problems to problem by helping at-risk boys improve behavior, learn important life skills and engage in community minded service.

Sprout Into Reading:

United Way of Dubuque Area Tri-States

The program, developed through research on similar programs in other areas of the state and in in discussion and collaboration with multiple organizations, targets low-income youth birth to five years of age. A key focus of the program is to provide direct distribution of books to those children.

Youth Mentoring/Academic Center*:

Dream Center

Provides "In Your Life Mentoring" connecting caring adults to impactful academic outcomes and character development of at-risk and underserved youth.
