Community Impact Grant

Every two years, United Way of Dubuque Area Tri-States opens a fully competitive grant process. This page provides prospective nonprofit applicants with the information to determine if they qualify and wish to apply for United Way of Dubuque Area Tri States (UWDATS) funding. The 2026-2028 Community Impact Investment Process opened on January 12, 2026 and will close at 5:00pm on Friday February 13, 2026. No late submissions will be accepted.

Two informational sessions will be offered via teams; Tuesday January 13th, 3:00 - 4:00pm, and Wednesday January 14th, 9:00 - 10:00am. Links for the sessions are on the informational document found on this page. A recoring will be posted after the sessions are compleate. 

It is the goal of UWDATS to fund the strongest proposals based on established evaluation criteria with heavy emphasis on documented program performance. Top priority areas for UWDATS is poverty prevention and/or reduction in the areas of Healthy Communities, Youth Opportunities, Financial Security, and Community Resiliency, commitment to dignity, fairness, and belonging, as well as community collaboration.

Weekly Q & A: UWDATS will accept grant questions in writing. Questions will be answered in writing in aggregate each Friday (with the last post date of February 13, 2026) so that all have access to the same information. Names of organization asking will not be disclosed.
